In 2002, a year of personal milestones, inspiration for this little character struck me: I got married and welcomed a bunny son into my life.
Bunnies have always captivated me, so I was sketching them all the time. On a whim, I gave one bunny three ears instead of two, each ear representing my husband, my bunny son, and me—a symbol of our new family.
The idea may sound odd, as it made my bunny look a bit like a quirky monster, but adding one more ear gave me an unexpected sense of completion.
Initially, the character's face was different from what it is now. The first version, drawn in 2002, had a very simple rabbit face with a standard rabbit mouth. Later, I modified the face using a design from another original rabbit character I had created, one with a smooching mouth.
Now, I craft lively chat stickers featuring this whimsical three-eared character and let it hop into my drawings, brightening the scenes.
